Petrobras makes $1.2b FID on biorefinery

Petrobras approved a $1.2 billion biorefinery in São Paulo producing up to 15,000 barrels per day of bio-jet fuel and renewable diesel by 2030. Sustainable fuels can reduce emissions from aviation and heavy transport where electrification is difficult. Industry Services can support project assurance, vendor inspection and asset integrity, while Caleb Brett can provide feedstock and fuel testing, quantity verification and supply-chain quality assurance.

Petrobras informs that its Board of Directors today approved the Final Investment Decision (FID) for the RPBC Biorefining project, which provides for the implementation of a dedicated plant for the production of bio-jet fuel and renewable diesel at the Presidente Bernardes Refinery (RPBC), located in Cubatão (São Paulo state), with an estimated investment of approximately US$ 1.2 billion.
