Safety us Paramount in all we do

Thoughts and Prayers are with the people involved with this disaster in Gabon, this does highlight the inherent risks associated with the Oil and Gas Business in Particular for Offshore Exploration and Development.

Borr Drilling‘s Prospector 5 jack-up rig sank off the coast of Gabon late on Saturday 24 October 2026, leaving one worker reported dead and four still missing out of 115 people on board. The Prospector 5 rig sinking happened as the crew prepared the unit for a drilling campaign it had not yet begun.

Production at the nearby MaBoMo facility in the Dussafu Marin permit has been halted, which puts the field’s two listed partners, BW Energy and Panoro Energy, under scrutiny.

The cause is still only preliminary, and the casualty figures had not settled as of Sunday.
