OXCCU has reached an important milestone in the development of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), with production of a synthetic blending component successfully tested and verified by us. The testing confirmed that the fuel meets ASTM D7566 Annex A4 specifications for Fischer-Tropsch Synthesised Kerosene with Aromatics (FT-SPK/A), a recognised international standard for aviation fuel blend components.
This highlights the potential of FT-SPK/A as an alternative route to increasing SAF adoption, particularly where blending limitations can affect other paraffinic SAF pathways. As referenced in my recent whitepaper, aromatic content will be a limitation in SAF blending into the future. Including aromatics in the blending component will increase the number of conventional aviation fuels which can be blended to 50% SAF.
