When is Waste Not Waste?

Production of Tyre Pyrolysis Oil (TPO) converts waste tyres into a useable refinery feedstock we can be processed into products. However, due to legislation in the UK this product is still classified as waste, which means that the stringent controls need to be applied during its transport, storage and use.

The UK Environment Agency has released a “Resource Framework” which is a specification allowing producers and users, to define TPO as a useable product.
