Green Roads: When Infrastructure and Energy Connect

The energy transition is also transforming our roads.

Renewable energy generation, energy efficiency, and electric mobility are becoming part of road infrastructure operations in Brazil.

One example of this movement is Motiva, which has been investing in solar power generation across its concessions. At ViaCosteira, on the BR-101 highway, seven solar power plants were installed, representing an investment of approximately BRL 24 million. The group is also advancing the electrification of its road operations fleet.

These investments highlight an important shift: roads are no longer just energy consumers; they are becoming part of the energy transition and the decarbonization of infrastructure.

Infrastructure, energy, and mobility are becoming increasingly connected, and I believe we will see this integration grow even further in the coming years.
